The always inspiring Morgan Spurlock plunges into the vast world of brand marketing in this Ted Talk video.
In fact, Spurlock goes so far that he has made a sponsored film all about sponsoring. The film gives a behind the scenes perspective of the advertising world.
By and large, branding is everywhere whether you are aware or unaware. Everything worth anything is up for marketing grabs nowadays.
5,000 ads a day are exposed to us on average, said President of the Marketing Firm Yankelovich, Jay Walker-Smith.
Spurlock made a film called “The Greatest Movie Ever Sold” to tell the greatest story never told. In this Ted Talk, he goes through his process of getting his film sponsored by brand partners who would empower him to tell this story about the power branding or rather the powers behind branding itself.
This sparked our interest here at WorkLush because we are in the business of branding. It’s fascinating how deep branding can go into the human psyche. In doing branding and in considering branding we think about the target of the product.
This film and this Ted talk that talks about the film show us new sides of marketing. A lot can be learned here about things like “brand personalities” and the way they are aimed at targeting desires in the consumer’s brain.
For us, social media marketing and image branding are vast and influential worlds we are always teaching ourselves about and teaching others.
